.original title - Can't Boot From My CD-Why?-What am I missing?. How can I get my CD drive to work again? I cannot boot from it-and I have done the BIOS thing, tried a driver program, It will not read or write, I have done the f8, f12, and it still will not boot from the CD, I want to up load windows 7 into my computer and it wont boot from the CD. I did the BIOS thing and the CD drive is the first to boot, however, it don't. I did a driver detective program and the program don't have a fix for my CD drive.
I have done the f8, yet that is for safe mode and it just boots in safe mood, not from my CD I have done f12 and that gives me a list of boot options, and when I selete to boot from D drive I get a message it can't and to chose f1 to retry (which does not work) or f2 for set up When I try to open it from 'my computer' it tells me to instert a CD, when it is already one in, not sure where to go from here.
