Hello, This is my first post on this forum. Thanks go out to MX Linux Developers, administrators, Hosts,Helpers, etc. I had loaded NDISWRAPPER and then a 'Windows' driver for my WiFI to try it out because I would occasionally have connection issues.Upon Re-booting there was a 'Kernel Panic'.

So I went into the BIOS and disabled both of my network cards (WiFI and Ethernet) and then the machine booted up just fine. At that point I Un-installed the 'windows' driver and NDISWRAPPER in MX. Then I shut the machine down then re-enabled my network cards in the BIOS. Now those network cards will not auto-load their drivers during boot so I must open a terminal and load the drivers manually using the MODPROBE command at every new boot. How can I get MX-17 to auto-load those drivers (again) during the boot process please?

What are your modprobe commands you are using. The output of. Thu Jul 19, 2018 10:25 am I'm not sure what happens when you set up ndiswrapper. You can try this create a file called wifi.conf in /etc/modprobe-load.d/ (the directory should already exist) with the contents of the name of the driver you used in your modprobe.

Reboot and see if things load. Actually there was no directory named modprobe-load.d but there was one named modules-load.d and inside of that directory there is a file called 'modules.conf into which i appended the driver name(s) as you specified. Upon a re-boot the wifi and ethernet are loaded automatically which has RESOLVED the problem. I wouldn't have found it though without your help, DolphinOracle, and so I thank you so much for your help and patience in this and for all that you do to help others too Problem Solved.
